Global Software Major Infosys announced on Tuesday that it has secured a five year outsourcing deal to manage the IT operations of Commerzbank, Germany’s second largest bank in the country. With plans to remodel the investment banking IT architecture as well as optimize the IT processes and potential post-trade processing utility evaluations, Infosys plans to set up a domain-based center of competence that is aligned to the bank’s business functions in the corporate and market segments.

Airbus is introducing a brand new corporate-jet version of their popular A350 XWB airliner outfitted with their Easyfit provisions for cabins. This new aircraft will further expand Airbus’ corporate jet family by offering an aircraft that can deliver even more comfort, capacity and capabilities. BBC News has recently reported that the United States nuclear weapons force still uses 8-inch floppy disks as well as a 1970s-era computer system. This information was revealed through a government report. According to the Government Accountability Office, the Pentagon, along with several other departments, are in desperate need of having their “legacy systems” urgently replaced. The government report suggested that taxpayers spend around $61 billion per year just to maintain these ageing technologies. This amount of $61 billion a year is said to be roughly three times more than the cost of investments for modern information technology systems. The government report revealed that the United States Department of Defense systems which coordinated intercontinental nuclear bombers, ballistic missiles, as well as tanker support aircraft

For the only the second time in the history of Semiconductors, the industry is expected to experience two consecutive years of decline in revenues. According to James Hines who is a research director at Gartner, the industry is expected to decline at a 0.6 percent clip in 2016 and the market is desperate for the next in demand driver to emerge and consequently become the tide that lifts all boats so to speak. The worldwide semiconductor revenue figures for 2016 is forecasted to generate a total of $333 billion which is a slight decrease of 0.6 percent from 2015.

Facebook is unveiling a new land-based systems in order to provide connectivity to people in urban areas with poor signal. This comes on the heels of Facebook launching air drones to provide internet to remote spots. Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that this was an important bullet point on their Facebook’s global agenda and will be making a more concerted effort into making the social network more widely and readily available to all parts of the world, especially those in the urban settings that are experiencing poor connectivity.

It’s actually not what you think. Airbus Group the Aircraft maker is in extensive talks with some very prominent companies in India such as Bharat Forge and Mahinda & Mahindra to have their parts forged. This move is an attempt to expand its supplier base and increase its outsourcing activity in India. Airbus has stated that this move is just the first of many stages of integration and that India should be immersed at all levels of the manufacturing process. The Economic Times reports that Airbus Group’s sourcing from India is expected to reach 2 billion or Rs 12,600 crore within the next five years and those are more conservative estimates.
