The Growth Of Gulf Airlines Coming To An End!
The words of Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr have been spoken. Per the CEO the belief of the speedy growth of Gulf Airlines will come to an end. It’s believed this will even out the pressure of an extremely competitive airline industry. It’s believed Gulf has reached its limits of their recent growth, and will soon top out. Lufthansa has been harsh towards Gulf Airlines which includes Qatar Airways and Ethihad. Due to this growth Lufthansa has had to drastically cut cost and overhaul their cabins to keep up with the Gulf carriers.
Mostly due to long distance routes being made by Gulf carriers on a regular basis. Cost cutting has reached the $85 million plus mark for Lufthansa. Some 800 employees have been laid off to date to keep up with the previous growth of Gulf Airlines. Airlines are always looking for ways to cut costs. Lufthansa has even gone as far as eliminating all reading material on board their aircrafts. While most people travel with some sort of smart device, phone, laptop, etc. This still seems like an odd and very bold move to put passengers in this non magazine reading seat.
If you board a plane with an uncharged IPhone, be prepared for a very long boring flight without a Sports Illustrated to read. In fairness it seems as though Gulf Airlines growth has not taken away from Lufthansa’s flying experience enough to deter passengers from boarding. Lufthansa, is just doing what other national carriers are doing, cutting cost in order to compete with rivals.
