Gulfstream airplane sets records going from Sydney to Los Angeles
Alud Davie released a web log post on May 18th 2016 on Corporate Jet Investor talking about the Gulfstream mode G650ER and how it has set a new record on its course from Sydney to Los Angeles. The Gulfstream G650 and G650ER have over 50 world records to its name for various types of activities. To get an idea of the time it took the Gulfstream G650ER to travel from Sydney to Los Angeles, here is what Davies wrote.
“The aircraft departed Sydney Airport during the morning of March 11, and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport 12 hours and 40 minutes later at 01:15 March 12.”
The average cruise speed for this flight is around Mach 0.86. This flight was over 12,000 km long.
The documentation for this record has been sent to the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale in Switzerland. Although the documentation has been sent for review, the US National Aeronautic Association has already approved of the record.
